June-July 2011
We praise the Lord for His continued protection. On July 8th I was
traveling to Divinópolis, which is about an hour away, with
three folks from the church in Formiga. On the way there, a large truck
pulled out in front of me. There was no way I could stop or avoid the
collision. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt, just some bumps and
bruises. The car, however, was totaled. Please pray that God would work
in this situation and give us wisdom on how to proceed.
We will be returning for furlough at the end of August. I will be
contacting each of our supporting churches to arrange a time to come by
and report on what the Lord has done during our time here in Brazil.
You may recall in our last prayer letter, that we asked for prayer
concerning the homosexual parade that was to be held in Arcos. We were
praying for rain so that they wouldn’t be able to hold the
parade. It turned out, that God had other plans. The weather on that
day was perfect, not a cloud in the sky. But in spite of the beautiful
weather, they only had a fraction of the crowd they were expecting.
Instead of ten thousand people, they only had a few thousand. In fact,
the media that had promoted the parade was silent about the weak
turnout.
In August we will be traveling to Catutiba to start a Bible Institute.
This is a tremendous need and will be a great blessing to the church
there. The pastor has desired to start an Institute for some time.
Please pray for safety as we travel.
We want to thank everyone for your prayers and support. We are amazed
at the wonderful group of people that God has provide to support us in
our ministry.
We also want to announce that we are expecting another child. The baby
is due in March. Please pray for God’s hand of protection on
Ingrid and the baby.
