March-May
2011
We praise the Lord for the wonderful camp we had this past March. As
you may recall, every year we have camp during Carnaval. This camp
provides our church folks a place to go to escape the wickedness of
Carnaval. Although we had fewer campers this year than in years past,
we still had a sweet spirit.
One of the burdens I had when I came to Brazil was to develop a basic
Bible Institute course for local churches. God has opened the door to
allow us to do this in Arcos. We are developing the material as we
teach through the classes. The Institute has three classes: Old
Testament Survey, New Testament Survey, and Theology. My prayer is that
this material will allow each pastor to train his people.
Please pray diligently for the city of Arcos. We found out a couple of
weeks ago that there will be a ‘Gay Pride’ parade in the
City of Arcos on the 18th of June. Homosexuals from 89 different cities
in our state will descend on the city of Arcos to display their
wickedness and flaunt their immorality. We created a tract entitled
“What God Says About Homosexuality”. It includes verses
about homosexuality and the plan of salvation. With the help of a
group of teens from our home church, we were able to distribute over
10,000 of these tracts. Please pray that God will use this tract to
turn people from wickedness and to salvation in Jesus Christ. We are
also praying that God would send much rain to the city of Arcos on the
18th of June, so that the parade will be cancelled.
Please continue to pray for the work in Arcos. Please pray that God
would give us wisdom and power as we witness. Please continue to pray
for Pastor Weber as well. Many nights he has to work until 7:30 pm
which doesn’t leave him much time for the ministry. We are
praying that he will be able to go full time in the ministry soon.
Thank you for your prayers and financial support.
